Employee Spotlight – Joe Ptak

December is here which means it’s time to drink hot chocolate, build a snowman, and for our waterpark company to share our final Splashtacular Spotlight of the year! 

This month, the team at our waterpark company is so excited to introduce you to Joe Ptak. Joe is a newer member to the team, but we can barely remember how we got by before he joined our project management team. 

Joe is a Kansas native with a deep passion for the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas State! When he isn’t working hard at our waterpark company to deliver our clients the best experience possible, you can find him playing golf or cheering on one of his beloved sports teams.

Splashtacular Title: Project Manager

How long have you been with Splashtacular and what initially drew you to the company? I have been with Splashtacular for about 5 months. I was contacted about an opening at Splashtacular and I thought it was something different and would be something I would enjoy.

What does a day in your life at Splashtacular look like? Right now, I am still learning all the ropes so most of the time it is something different every day.

What is your favorite thing about working at Splashtacular? It is a friendly environment with everyone working cooperatively as a team.

What is the most challenging part of your role? Keeping track of everything going on, on each of my projects. There are a lot of similarities in the projects, so it can be easy to mix some things up with other projects.

Where do you see Splashtacular in 5 years? Doing what we are currently doing but with other exciting and creative slides!

What is your best Splashtacular memory? Haven’t worked here for too long so I don’t have any memory that sticks out yet.

Three words to describe Splashtacular: Fun, friendly and creative. 

What was your first job ever? I worked as a soccer referee.

 Favorite Hobbies? Golf, working out and hanging with friends.

Favorite Sports Team? The Chiefs and Kstate!

Favorite Food? Any food, I’m not picky.

One Fun Fact About Yourself! I was Willie the Wildcat at Kansas State University!
